Self Defense for Medical Security Officers
Healthcare Security is a subspecialty that is faced with many unique challenges.
For example, sometimes you have two or more parties that need protecting, or are entering a scene with untrained personnel. Other times, you are forced into a situation where you have a to face increased liability and intense scrutiny by other patients or family members. Because of regulations, most hospital security personnel lack the tools and ability to use debilitating force as a way to defend themselves and others.
The My Occupational Defense training course for Medical Security Officers is specifically focused to address these challenges, integrating both necessary verbal engagement and verbal de-escalation tactics, as well as what to do when the need for physical engagement and physical de-escalation arises.
